Master Thy Self

IMAGE CREDITT: UNKOWN

Detachment, a definition simplified.

Buddha’s 1st noble truth is: the world is suffering; to transcend suffering is to live a life of non-attachment.

The degree of your suffering is the degree of your love to the world.

-Jesus Son of Mary (peace be upon him)

How can it be when since birth we have been taught to recognize what is rightfully ours, the concept of ownership, it is inevitable, but it is also inevitable that everything we attach to and identify with brings us much apprehension. The initiation of a life of non-attachment is as simple as this: everything is impermanent even our current unease – if it won’t matter in a month, or more, then it really doesn’t matter. The mind loves to limit the Self; recognize that mind management is the essence of life management. The heart and the mind are connected, as we think so we feel, yet our thoughts can be opposed, they can be mastered and we CAN change the way we think. And if we can master the Self then we are truly free. For this is our purpose in life, to transcend the Self to know our core, our core is Godly, through this we come to know as well as experience The Maker of the soul – Praises and Glory to Him.

The Self is in two constant states: contraction and expansion; when we learn to let go of  false attachments we face the innate silent bliss that’s been buried and suppressed.

The silent bliss that craves your attention.

Let yourself breathe into stillness. Inner stillness.

Stillness of the heart. Stillness of the soul. Pure Consciousness.

Because as the prophet Jesus (pbuh) said:

You will never obtain what you desire except through patience with what you despise.

May we be from the patient ones. Ameen.
