My mamma shares stories with me about her life in Beirut, back in the 60’s. She tells me how happy they were, collectively: content, appreciative, courteous and grateful. These are innate qualities for a society when it holds on to its values, morals and love towards a brother/ sister. Kids back then loved school, people helped one another, and a smile in a strangers face was the norm.

Well-being is contentment of what is and hope of what is to come; it is patience in the hard times and humbleness in the good times. Happiness is stillness, and an acknowledgment of your story in the world, and more so of the Creator who created you. Once you acknowledge your souls calling and understand your purpose, then happiness will not elude you for it is your natural state.

Nobody is born pissed with the world and its people, learned behaviour is where things can go wrong. Let us unlearn and relearn who we are, and what makes us feel alive.

What is this world but a dream that a sleeper sees. He delights in it for a few moments, and then wakes up to face reality.
