Humility, a rare trait to encounter.

The #modern<\/a> #world<\/a> is a world of the #self<\/a>. Everything you see out there is calling to the self, whispering constantly. You’re number #one<\/a>, you’re the most important thing in the world. You only live once, get what you can… while you can. And this is what the modern corporate mentality is, it’s a #dog<\/a> eat dog world, and the deepest #challenge<\/a> is to enter the station of a ‘human being’. – Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

For me, the essence of attaining humility is in recognizing that: though one may be an awesome individual, it does not make him\/ her more awesome than another. In fact, as a believer, it should humble him\/ her because one is aware that in their Creators Eyes, perhaps, the other person is better. And who can judge better than The One Most Just. <\/span>In Islamic tradition, we are warned about casting judgements on others, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) taught: “Allah does not look at your appearance or your possessions; but he looks at your heart and your deeds.” <\/span><\/p>\n

So while one may appear to be “on point”, it may be that one is off point in the spiritual realm.<\/span><\/p>\n
